Nestled on the banks of the winding Mkhuze River, concealed amongst the indigenous vegetation, is a modest collection of chalets which form the Amakhosi Safari Lodge. The lodge consists of various buildings all built in an unassuming architectural style which employs a rustic colour scheme of greens, browns, greys and beige, which blend it well with the surrounding environment.
 

The communal areas include a thatch-roof restaurant and dining room where guests will be impressed by the dishes presented to them. The wide decks looking out over the river and the wilderness make the perfect quiet spot to take in the views, read a book or take a dip in the plunge pool, in a swimming experience unlike any you’ve had before.
 
The chalets are all tastefully decorated and sleep on average two people. Each looks out across the river and has an en suite bathroom. As Amakhosi Safari Lodge is situated on a Big 5 game reserve, game drives are a necessary item on the itinerary. Passionate game rangers take groups out in the early morning and late afternoon to spot all sorts of game, big and small, and educate visitors on the animals and vegetation of the area.
