Tkabies Camping & Self-Catering is the ideal stopover for travellers on the N14, just 7 km outside of Keimoes on the Kakamas National Road. Tkabies Camping is situated on the banks of the Orange River, amongst the vineyards on a raisin and wine farm. There are a variety of lovely birds which frequent the area, including giant king fishers, melachites, woodpeckers and copper tail coucals. Guided tours can be arranged.

Honne-Pondokkies is situated in the remote village of Hondeklipbaai on the Namaqualand coast, where peace and tranquillity are a way of life and folks live at ease with their surroundings. Here all visitors are welcome and free to meander, without restraint or apprehension, along a picturesque 14 km shoreline.
“Loved Hondeklipbaai and we could have stayed there longer than 2 nights. The accommodation was perfect for us. We opted for the breakfast included rate and the breakfasts were amazing!!! The home made rusks were also really good. The owner was really lovely. We really enjoyed our stay there.”

5. The Nook B&B – Kimberley
The Nook B&B offers the very best in B&B accommodation in a relaxing tranquil garden environment at reasonable rates. Tranquil and well-appointed as well as pet and child friendly, The Paddocks is an upmarket place where you can relax on the patio with a drink in hand and view the magnificent surrounds of the Karoo. It is an ideal stopover spot but one can stay happily for a week, walking, birdwatching, game viewing and discovering the surrounding area. There is a freshwater swimming pool. Sheep farming, cattle and game are on the doorstep. The Southey and Stocks family have been on the farm for six generations and are charming hosts.
“We don’t have words to describe how happy we were staying at The Paddocks. We were so warmly welcomed by a lady by the name of Evelyn. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The bedding was amazing. I really can carry on all day telling you how wonderful it was. The Paddocks will certainly see me again and again. PS: We pre-ordered dinner …. Lamb curry and Bobotie. It came with a beautiful salad. It was lovely !!!!!”

Blydevooruitsig is a beautiful old stone guest house with all the modern facilities. Gates give you access to the property and there is a double garage with direct access to the house. The guest house offers four bedrooms with all linen and towels provided. There is a large front garden where children can safely play while the adults enjoy relaxing on the patio. There is an open-plan kitchen with freshly baked rusks available, and a large living area.

Vergelegen Guest House and Restaurant, surrounded by lush green vineyards of local farmers, sits nestled in the Orange River Valley; on the outskirts of Kakamas, Northern Cape. A Buffet style breakfast can be enjoyed in the restaurant or on the patio around the pool. All the rooms are non-smoking, but easy access to the patio if required.
