Kagga Kamma is a private game reserve in the untouched wilderness area in the mountainous Cederberg region. The Cederberg is characterised by untouched Karoo-like wide open wilderness, consisting of an array of indigenous wild flowers and animal life scarcely seen in any other parts of South Africa. The landscape and views from the reserve are stunningly picturesque all year round.
From the first humble chalets built in 1989 to the introduction of antelope for the private reserve, Kagga Kamma has grown into a luxury resort situated in a unique environment offering guests memorable experiences while preserving the natural environment.
At Kagga Kamma, you can take in spectacular scenery in absolute tranquility while enjoying stylish accommodation facilities, fine dining and a variety of tours and activities that will make your stay that much more memorable.
Activities include guided 4×4 and quad bike safaris, hiking trails and star gazing at the mini observatory. Guests can also make use of the resort’s swimming pool surrounded by breathtaking red-brown weathered sandstone rock formations. The resort also has a Spa offering exclusive wellness and beauty therapies. Guests can enjoy sundowners as the sky changes colour in the late afternoon at the resort’s pub or restaurant.
Accommodation at Kagga Kamma is either in the Outcrop Open Air Room or at the Bushman Lodge.
The Outcrop open air room allows guests the unique experience of sleeping under the stars, listening to the sounds of the night while drifting off to sleep. Situated on a remote rocky outcrop far away from the Lodge, this idyllic space is the first luxury sleep out facility of its kind.
The Bushman Lodge provides guests a choice of five spacious en-suite, thatched rondavels or ten unique cave suites that are built into the sandstone rock formations. The beautiful rock formations can be experienced up close in these suites that blend into their environment seamlessly.
