Western Cape Hotspots for you to Try
From a tourist’s perspective, the
Western Cape province of South Africa is one of the most fabulous destinations, and not least because it’s home to SA’s gay capital, Cape Town. On a jaunt around the Western Cape you can get a taste for wild coastlines, wild parties and wild adventures. Certainly a place worth visiting! But with so much to do and experience, where the heck do you begin? Here are a couple regions to start with to give you a nice rounded experience of what this diverse province has to offer. (more…)

Durban in a Day – Things to Do in Durban
The city of Durban lies on the warm east coast of South Africa, about 600km from Johannesburg. It is blessed with a warm sub-tropical climate with ocean temperatures dropping to all of 20 degrees Celsius in winter! It boasts long stretches of beaches, one of the largest Indian populations outside of the Indian subcontinent and beautiful scenery just inland. There are endless options for Durban holiday accommodation and endless things to do in Durban. To start you off here are a few ‘musts’. (more…)
48 Hours in Johannesburg
Johannesburg: the economic centre of South Africa, a sprawling metropolis, full of Johannesburg accommodation and a world of hidden gems. Given South Africa’s dearth of large, engaging cities, competition between Cape Town and Johannesburg has always been particularly fierce. Joburg, or Jozi as its affectionately known, often comes off second best in the tourism stakes when compared to Cape Town’s spectacular mountain, beaches and proximity to the Winelands. However while Joburg may not share Cape Town’s jaw-dropping scenery, that’s not to say it has nothing to offer. Here is a sample of what to try if you have 48 hours to kill in Joburg. (more…)
Adventure Activity Holidays to Knock your Socks Off in South Africa
Are you the kind of person that gets a kick out of hurling yourself off a cliff, or whizzing down precarious single tracks on a bicycle? Do you love the feeling of fresh air filling your lungs and other nature-y sensations assaulting your senses? Do you live for adrenaline and embrace the great outdoors? Yes? Well South Africa is the perfect destination for you then with its wide range of adventure activity holidays. (more…)
The Winning Cape Winelands
Clinking glasses, sweeping vineyards and complex flavours are but three of the sensory adventures waiting for you in the Cape Winelands, only to be experienced by those who make the effort to get there.
The Cape Winelands region is a large area in the Western Cape of South Africa which remains sans official boundaries. Instead, it is defined as the region of the province which produces the lion’s share of local wines. It incorporates a clutch of small, characterful towns, a wealth of heritage and a culinary scene unbeaten in South Africa. Given the bevy of experiences to be had in the area, it is unsurprising that Winelands accommodation is ever popular. (more…)
